TechCred helps Ohioans learn new skills and helps employers build a stronger workforce with the skills needed in a technology-infused economy. Many TechCred trainings can be completed online. These technology-focused credentials take a year or less to complete and prepare current and future employees for the technology jobs Ohio employers need.

Employers are eligible to be reimbursed $2,000 per employee per credential. Employers are eligible for up to $30,000 per application period for six application periods, for a total eligible reimbursement of $180,000.

ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS AT COLUMBUS COLLEGE OF ART & DESIGN

This course focuses on research methods and processes to evaluate the design options for digital products and experiences. Proven methods of looking at usability and accessibility are included.

This course explores various forms of storytelling relevant to UX design disciplines. Students will engage with best practices around brand-to-consumer communications.

Interface design is a critical aspect of UX, and in this course, students will learn about the golden rules of interface design. Attention will be given to patterns, grids, color theory and typography.

The finished design for a UX project is not the only project deliverable that matters. Students will learn about other core deliverables in a UX project, including storyboards, personas, storyboards, journey maps, and wireframes.

Designing for the web involves an attention to what someone needs to do on the site, and how they can go about accomplishing it. Students will learn about grid design, webpage layout, content placement and pattern libraries.

Increasingly, design teams working in Agile-focused companies are making do with fewer people and resources. This course focuses on the impact of Agile project methods on design, where teams work with a business hypothesis, around which they implement, test and iteratively develop features and services.

UX is about more than just making things. This course provides an overview of a typical UX project lifecycle, including the design thinking philosophy and process, and typical design methods to accomplish a UX product or service.

Creating a good user experience is more than just making pretty designs that people like – they have to have measurable impact on a business. This course looks at what it takes to provide a good return-on-investment around a UX project, including creating key metrics, measuring impact, and assessing feasibility.
