Em Yue

Em Yue is an artist and animator who primarily works in nonfiction, exploring themes of human connection, queerness and virtual geographies. After studying Journalism and Studio Art at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, she earned a Master of Fine Arts in Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts, where she also served as a postgraduate teaching fellow in the School of Film/Video.
Yue is a recipient of the Stephen Hillenburg Animation Award, and her film Elaine Is Almost premiered on season four of POV Shorts on PBS as a co-production of the National Film Board of Canada and American Documentary. Additional collaborations include stories with the Los Angeles Times, the American Museum of Natural History, the Pennsylvania Institutional Law Project, and Clockshop.
