Carol Boram-Hays, PhD teaches African art history, contemporary art and design, and culture. A sculptor and installation artist, Dr. Boram-Hays’ work has been nationally and internationally exhibited and has been featured in The New York Times, Landscape Architecture, and Sculpture magazine. Dr. Boram-Hays has authored articles on Zulu beadwork and published the book Bringing Modernism Home: Ohio Decorative Arts: 1890–1960. The winner of several national and state awards, Dr. Boram-Hays completed an artist residency in Dresden, Germany in 2001. Dr. Boram-Hays earned a bachelor’s in Biology from Washington University in 1985, a master’s in African Art History from The Ohio State University in 1994, and a doctorate in African Art History from The Ohio State University in 2000.
