David Burghy teaches Industrial Design Studio, Drawing for Design, Introduction to Industrial Design, Prototype Construction, SODA Collaboration Studio, modeling techniques and wood sculpture. An artist who works best with a pencil in his hand, Burghy’s preferred medium is wood. Burghy is a design consultant and a designer with engineering tendencies who enjoys drawing, woodworking and spending time with his family. Burghy co-authored the 1998 and 2003 editions of Structural Drawing & Applications and is a member of the Industrial Designers Society of America, Ohio Designer Craftsmen, Knox County Art League, and Licking County Arts. Burghy is a design consultant who enjoys woodworking and spending time with his family.
Burghy is the recipient of CCAD’s 2010 Teaching Excellence Award. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design from CCAD in 1989 and a Master of Education in Art Education from University of Rio Grande in 2009.
