Each year, Columbus College of Art & Design identifies the person with the highest grade point average throughout their college career and selects them as valedictorian of their graduating class. This year, Fashion Design senior Dominic Ciucci has earned that distinction.

You may not be able to pick John Musker out of a lineup, but you know his work. The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Moana—and other Disney animations beloved by critics and audiences—were co-written and co-directed by Musker.

Emerging student designers will bring fresh fashion takes to the runway at the 2024 Columbus College of Art & Design Fashion Show on Thursday, May 9, at 8:00 p.m. at Kemba LIVE!

Headquartered in Columbus, like many of the world’s biggest retail brands, Bath & Body Works has hired a number of talented, skilled CCAD students and alumni over the years—creative thinkers who have found professional success and fulfillment in their work.

Andrew Levitt (a.k.a. Nina West), drag queen, actor, singer-songwriter, activist and children’s book author, will deliver the Commencement address at the 2024 Columbus College of Art & Design Commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Wexner Center for the Arts’ Mershon Auditorium.

Student teams worked with the Basecamp, one of Airstream’s models designed for outdoor enthusiasts, to explore additional product enhancements, weight-saving measures, and interior concepts.

Four teams of Advertising & Graphic Design students in CCAD’s Advanced Typographic Communication class were tasked with developing concepts and designs for Keep Ohio Beautiful’s 2019 Annual Report, published in 2020. They presented their concepts for the book and page design to the client, who ultimately chose the winning submission.

Working from a design brief, CCAD students researched current trends, popular culture, product lines, and manufacturing capabilities to identify new potential categories in a two week sprint. 

Columbus College of Art & Design Fashion Design students swapped the runway for a championship ice rink in a project that gave them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design for a professional athlete, thanks to a partnership among the college, U.S. Figure Skating and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.

For nearly 100 years, The Merry Makers Club of Columbus has played a key role in central Ohio’s social and civic fabric. Now, Columbus College of Art & Design students will directly benefit from the Merry Makers’ support.

Each year, CCAD recognizes some of our outstanding alumni with our Alumni Awards. And this year, we were aided in that process by our inaugural 12-member CCAD Alumni Advisory Board, who aided in selecting the winners from the pool of nominees submitted by our community members.
