Columbus College of Art & Design has elevated two staff members to the Senior Cabinet.
Chris Mundell, who has held positions in CCAD Student Affairs since 2007, is now Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. Jill Moorhead, previously CCAD Creative Director, is now Executive Director of Marketing and Communications.
Both appointments were effective October 2016.
“Chris and Jill both have been serving as interim heads of their departments,” said CCAD President Dr. Melanie Corn. “They’ve demonstrated tremendous passion, commitment, and expertise in leadership roles, and I’m thrilled that they have agreed to accept these new positions.”
As Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, Mundell is responsible for programs and services that enrich the quality of on-campus student life. Those include oversight of academic advising and learning support services, counseling and wellness services, residence life, dining services, student involvement and orientation, multicultural affairs, and campus security.
In his nine years at CCAD, Mundell has placed an emphasis on improving support services for students, including implementing the college’s academic early intervention system, increasing counseling services, and establishing the Creative Coaches peer tutoring program.
Mundell earned his master’s degree in student affairs and higher education at Miami University. He is a past president of the Ohio College Personnel Association and a graduate of both the American College Personnel Association Mid-Level Management Institute and the Leadership Columbus program.
Moorhead became Executive Director of Marketing and Communications after serving as the college’s Creative Director for 11 months. In her new position, she will oversee all aspects of CCAD’s external marketing and branding as well as its internal communications. Her marketing background includes two years as Wholesale Marketing Director for Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and 13 years as Marketing Director of The Hills Markets.
Moorhead, an award-winning writer, was honored in 2015 as the Greater Columbus Arts Council’s Emerging Arts Leader. In addition to her work at CCAD, she is Board President of Wild Goose Creative and also sits on the boards of Pecha Kucha Columbus and Ohio Citizens for the Arts. Moorhead earned a bachelor’s degree in Interactive Multimedia from the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University.
