Interior Design Overview
Interior Design is often considered to be three-dimensional art in practice. Interior Design students learn to create the environments where we interact with the world. CCAD offers you the opportunity to design aesthetically outstanding spaces that are based upon theories of human behavior, functionality, sustainability, health, safety, and welfare. In this program you will focus upon exercises and simulated real-world design issues, defining a potential client’s goals and objectives through research, planning, design, and problem-solving techniques.
Art and design are integrated in all encompassing passions of our students and our faculty. We encourage and create opportunities for self discovery and application to interior design through an integral approach in classes and diverse opportunities. In addition, the program focuses upon industry-specific knowledge, design process, critical thinking, professional practice, and career preparation. You also will study to develop a variety of skills in hand renderings, computer modeling, and communication to convey methods and ideas.
Our industry-experienced faculty will guide you through the education and experiences that are important in a career as an interior designer. Our strong ties to the design community create many opportunities for students to interact with professionals and design firms.
CCAD’s Interior Design program is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).
